A former leader of the Shia Muslim community in Trinidad has been convicted of taking part in a failed plot to blow up fuel tanks and pipelines at JFK airport in New York.
Kareem Ibrahim was convicted of five conspiracy counts in the plot, which officials say was meant to outdo 9/11.

Japan's consumer prices have risen by 0.6% in April, from a year earlier, according to the statistics bureau.
It is the first sign of inflation in Japan in more than two years, as the country imports large amounts of fuel after twin natural disasters.

HA NOI — Viet Nam produced 1.13 million tonnes of sugar in the 2010-11 sugarcane season, up 21.3 per cent against the last season, according to the Viet Nam Sugarcane and Sugar Association.
